From Pamplona, Spain, Dr Albéniz works in the Endoscopy Unit of Gastroenterology Department, Hospital Universitario de Navarra and leads the digestive endoscopy research unit at Navarrabiomed Research Center.
Dr Albéniz coordinated the Spanish EMR-ESD group of the National Society of Digestive Endoscopy from 2013-2022 and has been a member of the Board of the National Society of Digestive Endoscopy from 2022.
Having introduced the techniques of the third space in Spain, Dr Albéniz has multiple research projects on mucosal resection, endoscopic submucosal dissection, POEM and STER. He currently leads an important line of research in gastric cancer that has obtained several state grants.
